Our History

Opened in 1998

THE DREAM

The Tennis Club at Springhurst was born out of a dream of three local tennis professionals; Chris Mather, Michael O'Shea, and Greg Combs to own their own tennis club.

The club was opened in the Fall of 1998 with 6 indoor courts and a partially finished clubhouse. In the months to follow, the clubhouse viewing area, locker rooms, and nursery were complete. Four outdoor hard courts followed in the summer of 1999.

An immediate success, the club was expanded in 2002 to include 10 indoor courts, an expanded clubhouse, new Pro Shop, and 3 outdoor clay courts.

Since our inception we have evolved into one of the finest teaching facilities in the area. Our Certified Staff of professionals take pride in TEACHING the game of tennis.
Our USA League and River City League teams are very successful (check out the TEAM section of this website), and our beginner TNT (Tennis in No Time) program has brought over 200 new people to the game of tennis.
Our TOP GUN Academy Junior Program not only has state & sectional champions but also has numerous junior players of all levels enjoying the Sport of a Lifetime.
